1. CLOUD DEFINITION

1.1. The use of the term Cloud is not exactly what you may define an innovative branding because :

a. of its nature of repackaged service that has been in place for decades;

b. it is missing the point on what should be delivered and it is not being delivered (certified processing run by a third party).

 

 

1.2. The “Cloud” marketing is quite unique considering that we are typically talking of nothing else than a revised ASP (late ’90) which followed an early 80’ general sourcing practice. In both cases, and decades, the typical traits were those of an overpriced, low end performing with constant regulatory adjustment needed (typically in the financial and banking markets), with no realistic help from the provider of the service and an assiduous struggle to get to nothing else than a plain vanilla service.

f. PRE FORMATTED AGREEMENTS WITH TOP THREE RETAILS CHAINS WITH PICK UP AND DELIVERY AT LOCATIONS AVAILABLE “AROUND THE CORNER”?

5. SHARING OF LIABILITY IN THE CLOUD: ASSUMING THAT THE REAL VALUE COMES WHEN THE CLOUD PROVIDER DELIVERS, UNDER HIS OWN FULL RESPONSIBILITY, THE FULL PROCESS AT A CONSTANT PREAGREED KPI AND KPO RATE, HOW IS THE INDUSTRY MOVING FORWARD SO TO OPTIMIZE THE SHARING OF LIABILITY BETWEEN THE VARIOUS PLAYERS?

6. WHAT (AND WHERE) ARE THE ETSI STANDARDS ADDRESSING PROCESS DELIVERY ?

WHO IS PROVIDING A PRIVACY CERTIFICATION FOR CLOUD SERVICES IN A EU, WTO, NON WTO ENVIRONMENT ACCORDING TO A (STILL NON EXISTENT) ART. 29 (PRIVACY DIRECTIVE) DRIVEN CERTIFICATION STANDARD PROCESS?
AND WHAT ABOUT A SAFE HARBOUR (EU – USA AND VICEVERSA) GUARANTEED EARLY CLEARANCE OF A SPECIFIC “CLOUD” PROCESS?

11. WHY ARE TELCOS NOT HAVING RETAIL AND BUSINESS CLIENTS PAY FOR (EASY) SLA WHICH TELCO (CAN DELIVER AND ARE DELIVERING) BUT ARE UNABLE TO COMMUNICATE TO THE END USER?

13. HOW MANY CLOUD PROVIDERS ARE OBTAINING A PAYMENTS CERTIFICATION LEVEL CLEARANCE AUTHORIZATION?

14. DATA CENTER – NETWORK – APPLICATIONS. SOLD TOGETHER. WITH WHICH SET OF SLA?WHERE?

15. HOW REVOLUTIONARY IS CLOUD VIS A VIS E MAILS?

HAVE E MAILS BEEN (UNKNOWLINGLY) RELYING ON “CLOUD” DATACENTERS FOR THE PAST 15 YEARS? WITHOUT MUCH FUSS

16. TAKING THE HYPE OUT OF BANKING AS A SERVICE, HOW MANY CLOUD PROVIDERS ARE APPLYING FOR A PSD, IMEL OR BANKING LICENSE?

AND IF THE CLOUD PROVIDER IS RETAINING FULL CONTROL OF THE PROCESS AND DELIVERING TO THE CLIENT UNDER ITS OWN NAME , CAN IT ESCAPE THINKING OF SUCH LICENSES?
